2. Setting Up a Token-Gated Group

Prerequisites:

  • Telegram Account: Ensure you have an active Telegram account.
  • Bot Added to Group: Add the Cyphomancer Gate Bot to your Telegram group and promote it to an admin.
  • Group Type: Set your Telegram group to Private.
  • Invite Link: Obtain and securely save the group's invite link.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Add and Promote the Bot to Admin

Add Bot to Group:
  • Open your Telegram group.
  • Tap on the group name at the top to access group settings.
  • Select "Add Member" and search for the Cyphomancer Gate Bot by its username.
  • Add the bot to the group.
Promote Bot to Admin:
  • In group settings, navigate to "Administrators."
  • Select the bot and promote it to "Administrator."
  • Ensure the bot has necessary permissions, such as managing messages and banning users.

2. Set Group to Private

  • Open your Telegram group settings.
  • Navigate to "Group Type" and ensure it's set to Private.
  • If it's not already private, change it by selecting "Edit > Group Type > Private."

3. Retrieve and Save the Invite Link

  • In group settings, find the "Invite Link."
  • Click "Copy Link" and save it securely. This link will be needed during the setup process.

4. Initiate Group Setup with the Bot

  • Open a chat with the Cyphomancer Gate Bot in Telegram.
  • Send the command /creategroup.
  • The bot will prompt you to confirm that you've added it to your group, promoted it to admin, and set the group to private.

5. Provide Group Name

  • After confirming, the bot will ask you to "Post the name of your Private Chat Group."
  • Enter and send the desired name for your group.

  • The bot will then prompt you to "Post the invite link for the group here."
  • Paste and send the previously copied invite link.

  • Start a conversation by clicking "Start" or sending the /start command.

2. Initiate Joining a Group

  • Send the command /joingroup.
  • The bot will prompt you to "Please paste the invite link for the private group you wish to join."

3. Provide the Group's Invite Link

  • Paste and send the invite link of the token-gated group you want to join.

4. Confirm Intent to Join

  • The bot will inform you about the group you're about to join and list the required tokens.
  • You'll be asked if you wish to proceed.

SOL Users:
  • The bot will specify an exact amount of SOL to send to a designated address.
  • Example: "Now, send EXACTLY 0.000012345 SOL to the following address: [Destination SOL Address]. The bot will monitor for this transaction and will time out after 5 minutes if not detected."
EVM-based Users (ETH, BSC, BASE, ARB):
  • The bot will instruct you to perform a self-transaction by sending an exact amount of tokens to your own wallet address.
  • Example: "Now, send EXACTLY 100 ExampleToken to your own wallet address (Self transaction): [Your Wallet Address]. The bot will monitor for this transaction and will time out after 5 minutes if not detected."

8. Execute the Transaction

  • SOL Users: Send the specified amount of SOL to the provided destination address.
  • EVM-based Users: Perform the self-transaction by sending the exact amount of tokens from your wallet to your own wallet address.

9. Transaction Monitoring

  • The bot will automatically monitor the blockchain for the specified transaction.
  • Success Scenario:
    • If the exact transaction is detected within 5 minutes and your token balance meets or exceeds the requirement, you'll receive a confirmation message:
